I have been really busy catching up on work since a recent trip. The big news in the headlines has been the finale of the George Zimmerman trial. While I typically stay as far away from touchy topics as possible, I feel the need to comment on this one.
First, the only “black” and “white” I see are paint colors. When it comes to people, we’re just a genetic DNA tweak different. I really hope our society gets to the point where the color of a person’s skin doesn’t matter, but the type of person they are means everything. Maybe I’m just being naive and that day will never come, but I sure hope it does. In terms of the “not guilty” verdict, I wasn’t empaneled on the jury and therefore not privy to the evidence presented. I can say with 100 % certainty there were no winners in the entire situation, except maybe George Zimmerman’s lawyer and the positive press he received from a not guilty verdict. That’s it.
That’s my foray into a touchy subject. I wish the world didn’t have sickness, death, and especially killings. Now I’m being naive for sure. I guess I should get back to doing what I do best, and that surely isn’t commentary. Yours… Dan.
